On behalf of the children, staff and governors, it is a pleasure to welcome you to our website. St Vincent’s is a school where we inspire pupils to develop their God-given gifts and talents to their full potential.
We are a one-form-entry Catholic primary school in the heart of Mottingham, offering a vision rooted in the Gospel and the teachings of the Catholic Church. St Vincent’s Catholic Primary School has a history of success, and our team continues to build on this. We are a vibrant, forward-thinking community where every child is given the opportunity to flourish.
The Gospel values underpin all our learning; Christ is at the heart of all we do. We recognise not only the importance of academic progress but also of spiritual growth. We set high expectations and keep children’s learning at the centre of every decision. In our school, no child is left behind.
St Vincent’s is a caring and stimulating place to learn, and we hope this website offers a snapshot of how our children and staff work, learn and play together. Our school is popular and oversubscribed because children learn in a happy, caring environment.
During lessons and beyond the classroom, pupils demonstrated their happiness and confidence in the school. This was also shown through their exemplary behaviour and positive approach to all activities within the school day. (School Inspection Report, 5 December 2024)
St Vincent’s is a school that listens. Families play a vital role in every child’s success, so we will involve you at every step of your child’s journey here and actively welcome your views and ideas.
In September 2025, following consultation with parents and stakeholders, St Vincent’s joined the St Oscar Romero Multi-Academy Trust. Guided by the mission, “Called by Christ to be agents of change and apostles of hope,” our Trust is inspired by St Oscar Romero’s challenge to “Live our lives with purpose.”
Five Core Principles of the Trust
-
Act with Courage
-
Build Community
-
Embrace Faith
-
Seek Justice
-
Serve the Poor
Responding to the call of the Gospel, the Trust provides a distinctive Catholic education grounded in collaboration, professional development and community partnership. Working together, we overcome challenges, celebrate achievements and create a family of schools where every child can flourish. Everything we do places the child at the centre, striving to do all that can be done—and to do it very well.
As St Oscar Romero reminds us, we plant seeds that will grow, water seeds already planted and lay foundations that others will continue to build upon.
I have the great pleasure and privilege of working with fantastic children and a dedicated, enthusiastic staff team. I am very proud of our school and all that we achieve together. We look forward to welcoming you to St Vincent’s and to a happy and successful partnership with all our new children and families.
