Prayers

Prayer is an important part of our school life. Our children recognise the importance of dedicating time to speak with God throughout our days. They also understand there are many different types of prayer and they feel comfortable using different prayers. We regularly say traditional prayers in school, but our children also have many opportunities to write and share their own prayers. We begin the day with prayer and our Spiritual Leaders regularly lead this prayer time with different year groups.

Children have the opportunity to dedicate our prayers to their own personal intentions. Children have reflection time after their prayers to give them the opportunity to speak to God in their own words.

“I used to believe that prayer changes things, but now I know that prayer changes us, and we change things.”

Mother Teresa

These are some examples of prayers in our school.

ST VINCENT’S PRAYER

Please five us the strength to live out the Gospel values of Love, Forgiveness and Compassion when we are amongst our neighbours.

Grant us with Aspiration so that we can achieve our best in all that we do, showing Resilience for challenges that come along our school journey and Curiosity to learn more.

Help us to be good Samaritans in others' times of need, and show stewardship towards the beautiful world God has created for us.

Amen

LUNCHTIME PRAYER

Bless us, Oh God, as we sit together.

END OF THE DAY PRAYER

Now the day has ended

and our work is done,

thank you Father

for looking after us,

each and everyone.

In addition to the school’s own prayers, our children regularly pray some of the traditional prayers:
